A lot of mobile phone manufacturers now set their eyes on selling inexpensive but good phones. In the past, they’re only bent on selling the best mobile phone money can buy. But according to the statistics, people do not actually buy flagship models because it is just too expensive and they would rather buy a mobile phone that is either budget-friendly or in the mid-range.

Today, we are going to talk about the BLU Vivo XL. This is one of their more inexpensive mobile phones and we will see if the BLU Vivo XL is any good (because this phone is targeted for the mid-range market).

To describe the design of this mobile phone in one word, it would be “Stylish”. Even when if this is a midrange phone, the BLU Vivo XL didn’t compromise on the aesthetics department. It has a glossy back cover with a matte aluminum frame on the sides of the phone. It just feels great in the hands and the matte finish on the sides will prevent this phone from slipping out of your hand.

The power and volume controls are situated on the right side of the phone; the microUSB port is located at the bottom and the headphone jack is located at the top; which are usual placements for these ports.

I love how the company managed to put just a small bezel on the screen. This allows you to enjoy your content even more without having those borders get in the way. The BLU Vivo XL comes with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display but it only has a 720p resolution with a pixel density of 267ppi.

It is quite sad given that this mobile phone has awesome aesthetics. But I guess the company had to cut down on something and the screen is a little bit compromised for the price.

Still, the 5.5-inch AMOLED display provided excellent color saturation and since the screen is big enough, you can enjoy all of your media content without any worries at all.

As for the mobile phone’s performance, the BLU Vivo XL comes with the MediaTek MT6753 octa-processor that has a clock speed of 1.3GHz and it is also coupled with the Mali-T720 GPU and a respectable 2GB of RAM.

The specs are pretty much very good and people who are looking to multitask with this phone will have no problems. There is no noticeable lag and I was able to play games without any stutters whatsoever.

Shifting from application to application is also buttery smooth and I don’t see any stutters transitioning from one app to another.

The camera is also quite good. For the price, you get a 13-megapixel rear camera with phase detection autofocus and a dual-tone LED flash. It also comes with a good 5-megapixel front camera for selfies.

As to be expected, the camera performs really well in good lighting conditions but suffers a little bit when you are in low-lit environments. Still, I find the camera good enough for everyday use.

In terms of connectivity, the BLU Vivo XL comes with the Bluetooth 4.0 technology and it is also 4G LTE capable. To be able to enjoy 4G LTE without having to worry about signal problems, get a mobile phone signal booster.

The BLU Vivo XL is a very good midrange phone though they had to cut the screen’s resolution to a respectable 720p. Still, for the price, this phone is a very handy everyday phone.
